
I was asked to be on ABC 7’s Windy City Live again this June on a segment about the exciting ways to cook tofu, which reminded me of my blog for my previous Windy City Live appearance back in January. In case you forgot, I was asked to be on Windy City Live to do a cooking segment on raw foods.
Amongst other recipes, I chose to display my Karyn’s Green Meal Shake because I am constantly asked what I eat for breakfast. You can read in my previous blog about how important it is to break the fast (breakfast) with a light high-energy snack or meal and that’s exactly what my Green Meal Shake is, a whole meal filled with chlorophyll and greens to get your day started right. And the best part is that if you drink it in the morning you’re not hungry until 1 or 2 p.m.
The special on Windy City Live was about weight loss and maintaining a healthy diet and I was asked to be on the show with Academy Award Winner Jennifer Hudson.
I was honored to be on stage with such a wonderful woman and co-hosts Val Warner and Ryan Chiaverini were extremely welcoming to me on the show, although Ryan was scared to try anything green.
Karyn’s Green Meal Shake Recipe
Ingredients
- 14 oz liquid (Rejuvelac/Apple Juice blend)
- 2 tbsp soy lecithin granules
- 2 tbsp Karyn’s Green Meal Powder
- 2 tbsp Karyn’s Flax Oil
- Frozen banana (hint: peel then freeze)
Directions
Blend until delicious and creamy. Serve and enjoy!
