Testimonials

In less than a year, Karyn’s client Memorie Knox lost 130 pounds of pain, fear, hurt, rejection, insecurity, unforgiveness, bitterness, rage, anguish and anger. She took the Karyn’s 4 week detox class to another level by using several powerful aspects of the cleanse to reverse weight gain and chronic constipation. This was achieved by gradual change of eating habits, juice cleansing and a renewed mind. Now, her life’s motto is “Change is not change until you change.”

Hello Karyn,
I want to take this opportunity to say “thank you” for the opportunity to be a part of the January, 2003 Detox Class. I never dreamed when signing up that I would feel as great as I do today. I mentioned to you in the beginning that I was diabetic and while you made no commitments to me, you were very clear about your direction and what the possibilities could be if I followed the program. I'm so pleased that I stuck with the program and look forward to the May 2003 Class.
Also, I want to share with you a note I received from my doctor dated April 9, 2003: “Your glycochemoglobin is in the non-diabetic range!! It is 6.5%, You are doing excellent. Keep up the good work.”
Thanks again, and please continue the great work you’re doing!
Sincerely, Pat Harris

Over the weekend, I was doing a shop for my bids at Dominick’s and an acquaintance came across me while I was leaning against my grocery cart with my head in my hands. She asked me what was the matter and I told her that I have a hard time shopping at Dominick’s and I worry about all the food additives and chemicals that my kids get in their diet. I started putting the “food” back on the shelves. My friend called me an extremist. “Out there”, I am an extremist, we don’t have a TV in the house, Nintendo games, and I supported my daughter in boycotting the milk promotion by the Wisconsin Dairy Council at her school. The class who bought the most milk won a milk and cookie party. The principal thought I was insane. There is all this evidence that I am an extremist… I even drink green drinks at work. In this room at Karyn’s, my ideas and lifestyle are supported and validated. With like - minded people in the restaurant, we exchange ideas and I am learning at an accelerated rate. I’m enjoying my process of self-discovery, health and well-being.
Thank you, Karyn.

This was my third cleanse. I created relief from abdominal tenderness, which I now know is related to constipation and bloating. I also cleaned my closets and weeded out my wardrobe… creating physical space in my life. And, I am making choices to let go of things I don’t want to do anymore, creating space in my life for new loves.
Thanks Karyn!

Hi Karyn!
I stopped in the Fresh Corner this morning. I hadn’t been there since the January Detox class ended recently. (I live in the far western suburbs – I don’t get down as often as I would like.) And I just had to tell you it was like coming home!
It felt great to be back!
I won’t be able to be in the March class, Mondays are not the best night for me. So I am going to try this on my own this month. I will miss the weekly support, but I feel I don’t want to wait until May to do this again. I fell back into my pizza and pasta dishes about a week after the class ended. It was a slow transition back but it happened just the same. And I didn’t like what it did to my body. I couldn’t wait to start the program again. After having the green drinks today and taking the Rejuvelac (which I really enjoy), I could sense the changes in my body. My body was liking what I was giving it! Also, I had your entrée the Chicago Roll – FABULOUS!! I had tried to make the Almond Pate during the last class, but I did something wrong because it didn’t even compare to yours.
And I have to tell you that Maria, behind the counter, is a wonderful lady. She always has a smile on her face and is very warm and friendly.
Hope to see you sometime soon!
Best Regards, Niki Conforti

Karyn,
Your 4 – week cleansing program is both detoxifying and intoxicating! I’m learning more about my body, its cravings, digestion and elimination, that I ever imagined.
Initially I thought it was a bad idea to commit to this program during the Thanksgiving Holiday. Traditionally this was the beginning of my eating/drinking season. But today, I know I made the right choice. I’m a better person physically and emotionally.
Now, I will watch what I eat and how I eat during the holidays. Then I can begin the New Year refresh, renew, and recommitted to caring for my body – inside and out.
Thank you!
Shawnelle

I recently completed the 4 – week detox program with Karyn, and all I can say is “WOW!”
I feel great! I’ve lost 15 pounts so far, and I no longer feel tired, or have headaches. My skin is clear, and everyone has noticed a “glow”. However, the best thing about the detox was the mental clarity, and the sense of control that I achieved from the raw foods. Also, this cleanse was very emotional, I can honestly say that I was able to evaluate my relationships with people. In fact, I reunited with my father, whom I had not seen in 11 years!! The benefits from the class outweigh the discomfort of the detox, such as gas constipation and headaches. I recommended the detox to everyone that I know!!!!

Dear Karyn,
As I pause to give thanks, you are at the top of my list.
On April 4, at 2:00 P.M., I had a Divine appointment with you, and it was the turning point in my life.
I continue to feel the presence of God in my life and confidence of peace each day.
All that I do each day is what I learned from you for the most part.
Keep up the good work!
A lot of us need what you have to offer.

Detoxification 101
I laughingly entitled my testimonial as such because, during this cleanse, I realized two things:
(1) When Karyn says “each cleanse builds upon the other”, it’s very true
(2) How far I have come… but also how far I have to go!!!
This was my 3rd cleanse with Karyn and I experienced more this time than ever before:
More cleansing reactions – which I welcomed
More energy and peace of mind
More connection with my body
… and I’ve come to CRAVE E3-Alive, Rejuvelac, and Kamut!
I stand at the crux of really understanding how to achieve health and longevity. I not only understand it… I feel I can actually look ahead and SEE it. The light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you, Karyn, for being an inspiration to us all. A gentle, guiding light that keeps us coming back.

Dear Karyn,
Thank you for sharing your beautiful being, wit, wisdom, and spirit. I have gained so much just by listening to you. Physically I have gained by increased energy, loss of 6 lbs., and more youthful skin. I am 52 years old and my skin was sometimes dry and papery… not anymore!
I am just easier in my skin… this, something I will continue.
Warmly, Linda

This is my third raw food detox class in the last twelve months. Each fast was beneficial in different ways. The first opened me up to great healing possibilities. I gained confidence in the control I had over my own health and healing. Since I am a health care provider and healer for other people, it was time for me to orchestrate with God my own healing. Last year, one year after having surgery to remove 22 very large fibroid tumors, my doctor informed me there were 11 new ones. I was devastated and I felt defeated. I spoke with my coach, Bill Campbell, about the results, and he said this is good news. He then went on to say that the surgeon had done his part and now the opportunity had presented itself for me to complete the healing. I felt empowered again and began my spiritual journey. My thanks goes to Bill, who led me to Karyn to begin the nutritional aspect of this work. Intuitively, I knew that my body needed cleansing. Thank you Karyn for putting together the pieces I needed to speed up the journey. Now, a year later, I returned to the doctor the first day of the fast for an ultrasound. The doctor looked somewhat confused as she read the new results. She was only able to confirm 6 fibroid tumors, and all 6 were the size they were last year. Thanks to Tina, Reiko, Connie, Diana, and Toni, who agreed to do this work at my encouragement. I pray that it was rewarding for you. Special thanks to Darren, who has been my partner in each of these fasts and this whole experience.
Again, my thanks Karyn,
Millicent Knight, O.D.

I have taken Karyn’s class 3 times before, but I feel like this cleanse has been the most successful since I was able to push myself further than before. I also experienced many emotions, especially during the fast – I even woke myself up one night because I was crying during a dream! I have not only been able to make improvements to my physical and mental well-being, but it has also helped me to make important lifestyle changes. I have been a vegetarian for over a year now and I hope to eliminate dairy from my diet as well. It may seem like these changes would be very limiting to my diet, but it has actually allowed me to expand the types of foods that I enjoy.
Karyn, thanks for helping me improve the quality of my life.

Detox Part II (The Remix)
By Marcellas Reynolds
My first detox: easy, breezy, beautiful. None of the symptoms, all of the benefits. Thank god (and Karyn)! Though physically easy, my first detox was very emotional. I discovered that eating for me was more than nutrition. I used food to make myself happy, as a temporary band-aid to block bad feelings, to make myself feel in control. A bag of Reese’s cups here, double cheeseburger, chocolate shake there, whho cares if I hate my job.
Finally a reason to confront the negatives, while doing something positive. Yes, I lost weight (although I was not trying). Yes, my skin is so much better, clearer, and my eyes so much brighter. It’s so nice not to feel sluggish or sick after eating. The best part of Karyn’s Detox is finally making the correlation between food and health. It’s true, you are what you eat.
Detox II has been equally easy. I had problems with the fast (visions of food, but at the very least it was healthy food) but I made it. Three days, no chew food, enemas, implants, and lots of visits to the loo. I’m proud of myself. I no linger eat meat and I don’t miss it. I may cheat (I love sushi), but I will never go back to that Burger King, McDonald’s Taco Bell, Snappy’s, Chicken, eating out of control man that I once was. Karyn, my bookers thank you, and I, thank you. Keep imparting wisdom.
Marcellas Reynolds
PS: Actually my bookers probably don’t care but I had to throw the model thing somewhere!

January 2001
I first met Karyn in the early 90s, at the time there was no restaurant, we met in her house in Evanston. I was overweight and thought I could lose a few pounds by trying her methods. I wasn’t sure that what I was getting into. After finishing the cleanse I realized I’d found a way to eat that changed my life, and have continued to do so far the last ten years. I live as a vegan. It helps me to stay on the path, I also fast one day a week, and drink wheatgrass (3 oz.) and vegetable juice (16 oz.) each day.
After 10 years, I felt it time to recorrect and gauge my overall health, plus rid of myself of toxins that come from living in an urban environment.
The verdict: I feel great. It was good to be eating raw foods again. I didn’t struggle with the fast. It came easy. The E's and the I’s – well, um, I did them – let’s leave it at that.
I’m clear and I feel refreshed. For a few days I experienced slight headaches and I had a slight runny nose, but toxins must go.
“I got what I came for”. I’m on the right course and the detox/cleanse has given me renewal energy.
If you told me ten years ago I’d be eating only raw foods, drinking a nasty tasting green liquid, and sticking tubes up my butt, I’d say “what the hell are you smoking?”
If you want to rocket your life to a positive, powerful place – do the detox/cleanse. Your body, your mind, and your environment will be better for it.
